started friday after work around 6:30.picked at the crappie,tarpon and gills til
7:30 when i started throwing sticks.around 8pm i get my first eye.20 minutes later i miss one that hit right at my feet,gotta love that shore line blast!!.then
at 9pm i hooked and landed my 2nd eye and headed home.saturday i am back up the late at 6am and in search of crappie.i start throwing the small husky jerk first.
on my third cast i get hammered right by shore.the ultra light is bent up and the 4lb test is zipping off the reel.i'm figuring its a good slim dart and there goes the husky jerk but after a little fight there is a eye attached to the lure.just as i reach down to grab him the hook pulls and off he goes.the rest of the morning was real slow until about 8am when i found a good school of nice crappie that wanted to eat.i stayed a played C&R for an hour and a half then headed home.
went back up around 7pm and fished till 9pm.fishing was slow for me as i only missed two but the pres had hooked 5 and landed 4.all cookie cutter eyes that were released unharmed to get bigger.easter morning back up the lake early and head to the spot were i had the crappie the day before.at first is all small fish with a few tarpon and gills thrown in.around 7:30 i hook a good crappie and the bigger fish start to turn on.as i'm catching i get a call from the pres who is in the middle of a hybrid frenzy.said the fish were blowing up all around him and as soon as his plug would hit the water it was game on.i told him i was staying put as the crappie were all nice and i wanted some for the table.about 45 minutes later he called back and said the blitz was over and he landed 4 with one being 7 and change. he asked if i was still catching and i say yes so he came over.it was real good fishing with allot of bigger crappie.we caught what we needed and headed home.went back up at 7pm
only to get the total skunk, no runs hits or errors.all and all a great weekend on the big lake.
