Went shad fishing the last 2 days on the Big "D" and fishing was excellent. I caught 13 on the 1st day and 7 on the second. Caught a few real big roe. All my fish where caught from shore.I normally fish for shad from a boat so this was a good accomplishment for me. I talked to a few guys that where out on boats and heard of catches anywhere's from 40-60. Flutter spoons seem to be the hot lure. All my fish where caught north of Milford. Awesome day on the river it looks like! Great catch to boot.
This is what I've been waiting for, this week I'll try to catch my first shad for sure.

GL if you get out there again, sounds like they are flooding into the river now, even past the water gap.

Some phenom action dude! I was out there bank beating as well! Did very well for my first trip of the year! Think I saw you but I'm not too sure!!! Gotta love the Shad, sucker strong silvery beasts!

I heard of some very good reports north of "The gap". One report was none stop action for at least 4 hours all from shore. Get out there ...the time is NOW!

wish i went shad fishing this friday, had the whole day off and went laker jigging, the bite was scratchy as hell, kept dropping them and missing nudges, only landed one.

UPDATE: Heads Up !! I heard there is going to be a big shad tournament this coming weekend with the biggest grand prize they ever had and I believe it goes for 2 days. I am sure that the river will be extra busy. Might want to find a lesser fished spot to avoid the crowds! Just sayin!

I was out sunday til 12 i got 6 and my brother five or six as well

Went out today after work. Fished from 5 to 7 with two downriggers. Silver and pink was the best. Got 23 lost 4. Was basically non stop with plenty of double headers. Fastest water I could anchor in 7 ft deep. 2 buck the rest were fat females.
