Can anyone confirm this for me? The Digest says trout are stocked in the feeder canal and main canal to Alexander St. in Princeton. It does not appear that there are any trout stockings in Somerset or Middlesex County. Would it be safe to assume the canal in Somerset and Middlesex is open for fishing during the 3 weeks prior to opending day?

Best to ask some authority on it. I assumed it was the whole stretch.

Myself and quite a few others fish the Middlesex and Somerset county area of the canal this time of year. Your good to go on the upper section dude! Took a walk down the path today! Lots of critters moving around with the warm high sun being out! Some fishermen as well!:D

Thanks buddy...I'm sure you're right. The Digest clearly states that only stocked waters and portions of waters that are stocked are closed and it says the stocking ends at Alexander St. in Princeton. I was thinking all the water in Somerset and Middlesex should be open. I've fished it for awhile and have never seen trout stocking signs. I also think there's a lock just upstream from Griggstown that tecnically separates the two waters. Was doing some recon after the Somerset Expo, found a few suprises. Always something new with that canal.
