slab happy weekend!!!!!

fished around the lake this weekend from lakes end to wood port and found
decent fishing in just about every spot for this time of year.bluegills,shiners,
lm bass,yellow perch,pickerel and crappies.it was almost all c&r but i did keep a few slabs for the table.

Awesome to hear! I only had off Sunday and skipped on the idea of going with the cold front and wind. I bought a new boat so I'll be out there as soon as it's finished in a week or so.

Was out Sunday on the banks in the skinny water with not much going on. Managed 2 dink perch in 3 hours.

sunday we had them good from 1pm till 3:30pm when we left.jigs out fished the fatheads.can't throw the husky jerks without catching slime darts,there everywhere.some fished early sunday 6:30am and had them also.

mini mite jigs two foot under a bobber.i was using chartreuse and my son had red and we both caught about the same.some wanted the slow reel and some the reel and stop.they had fish yesterday afternoon also.

no secrets at dows! stop in and talk to laurie even if you don't want bait, she has the mini mites and tons of lures, pretty much anything that works in NJ, and if she doesn't have it tell her and she'll order it!

Yeah I'm looking at picking up the new rig next week. Crazy how it's 70* today with t-storms and supposed to snow Friday...

the crappie were crushing surface plugs for me a few days ago, flying straight out of the water at times! yesterday, not so much. still caught almost as many but they would only hit the floated jig and the bite was pretty subtle, and that to the wind and it took some effort, but was still pretty great fishing. If the wind would stop, i could get in my boat and get on the bigger ones!

they were smacking the bobber tuesday afternoon.they caught some yesterday afternoon but ya had to work for them like chris said.with the temps in the teens i'm sure skim ice will be a problem also.

i haven't dealt with the slime darts yet, mostly avg-small crappie with some avg-sm perch, gills, and small bass thrown in.

went out yesterday around 12 noon and all my spots were iced over.should get back on track this week with warmer weather moving in.

I was out on the lake with my brother yesterday in the afternoon... Dumbest move we've made in a while. It was painfully cold and we never got a single hit. Should've wised up when we got to Dow's for bait and half their dock was covered in ice. We didn't see another single boat on the lake either.
