We had a good solid week or so. Then ice was gone, but there was fishable ice last weekend by Sunday. That will be gone now. It's been a strange season.
I just shelled out about $200 switching from tip-ups to jigging rod based tip-downs and Hi-Tech ice rigs because I like the idea of fighting fish on a rod, instead of hauling them in by hand. Hopefully we will get another cold snap and I will get to use them this year. If not, I'm sure next year will be good. I don't recall more than 2 bad years in a row in my lifetime.

Good sale on heritage laker tip ups going down on the erie-based Internet fishing gear supplier... this season is shot. Good opportunity to reload for next year if needed!

Best tip ups around, I have had mine 30 years and they are still like brand new!

its funny how peeps say we had "fishable" ice this year.i know some peeps who go out on 2 inches,is that"fishable" ice??.i myself am a 4" or better guy.no need to take chances just to catch a fish.

Well different strokes for different folks.
Personally was ice fishing every weekend from mid December, with only 2 weekends out of state.
2 inches is fishable for some and I do understand reluctance to get on ice if it is that thin. But sometimes itch gets the best of me and when you have to go you go. On a side note you wont ever catch me doing that alone anymore. Tried that 2 years ago and that was enough for me.

if you could get a boat in or find the right shore spot, you could get it done right now!

Looks like next week temps will be below freezing every night. The ice may be back by next weekend.
