Havent caught a fish in months; today was a good day however!
I met Clinton at a pond in middlesex today. He gave me some great pointers on fishing around central jersey for a new angler myself. If I didn't meet him I wouldnt have stuck around and broke my ugly streak.
First winter fish, crappie, and my so far my biggest bass. Big thanks to Clinton and all the helpful anglers out there. He caught a bass and multiple crappie himself btw
Hoping more people got out in the great weather today.

Nice! Winter fishing can be tough, but it looks like you found em!
Every time the weather has been warm like that for a day or two, I get the itch to go fishing. Really would be nice to have a week of warm weather like that.

That's a start! Going back to the warm winter we had 4 or 5 years ago, we had some pretty productive days throughout January and February. I'm still doing the ice dance though, so let's not jinx it!

You mean by the houses up the hill and right before the bamboo? Caught my first bass at that spot actually.
I had no luck at the bridge however at the east end of the pond, where the Ambrose brook enters. But that was a different day I went there.

Very nice, congratulations.
I am still itching to be on nice chunk of safe ice though.

Nice to see a young new fisherman getting out there and getting it done. I must say, this site is just filled with "GREAT" people willing to help others. I'm 46 years old, and these guy's still help me from time to time with questions I have. I see your from the Middlesex area, but in the spring/ summer etc. if you are willing to take a ride up my way (Jackson) you are welcome come on my bass boat any time, I mainly fish Manasquan res./ and surrounding lakes after work almost every day, and weekends. I can def. get you on some of the biggest fish in NJ, and I would be happy teaching you what I know, and helping yopu out. You wouldn't even have to worry about tackle, or anything, I have everything. I was really pumped to see you guy's got out yesterday fishing, I have a Tournament tomorrow, and seeing stuff like this...I CANT WAIT. I'm serious about my offer, I'm always checking in daily here on the board, so just hit me up, and we can make plans. Rich

Sounds great Rich, as long as you are ok with my friend tagging along I'm up for it. He's a bigger noob than me, and I'm trying to make sure he's along the journey with me as well.
Idk when a good time is however, the two of us are mostly free but got college starting up again this week as well with work on the weekends. Surely I can take off of work with two weeks in advance however, so just let me know when on a weekend.

Bringing your friend would be NO problem at all.

Heh, it might be a prob if he does a floppy cast and hooks one of us on that bass boat.
I'll try and take him out again to get casting down for our goodness sake.
Send me pms about further details like time+date. Weather might go back to ice soon.

I heard they stock them up, but I got no luck myself. Same with the carp there. You'd imagine the bass would be harder to catch.
So far I've omly tried corn and another time hotdogs. Might go serious in the summer and try it again.
