Charters and Headboats reduced to one Bluefin.
Not good for the industry and all who support it.

Another nail in the coffin of the sport we all love...

Time to take a stand or the only fishing we will be able to do is on Xbox.

Migratory species. Maybe the run off NJ wasn't great but from reports I heard they crushed them in New England waters.

bunker= perfume,omega pills,fertilizer & bait= big money
bft= huge over-seas market= big money
fluke=up and coming market here in the states & big over-seas market= big money.
not being negative folks but this all seems pretty coincidental.
taking from the rec guys to sell for big money seems to be an on going saga.
i have donated money,wrote letters{remember that}sent emails,made phone calls{another oldie} for 30 years and i for one am tired.i pray everyday that
the powers to be will re-think and act to save what we have left.i love this sport as much as anyone on this site but you only can do what you can.

Nation wide. Here in Florida they shut down cobia, amberjack, red snapper and grouper. No way to charter and make a living. Some head boats here are advertising sharks! Not mako or thresher just trash sharks. 2017 no red snapper season on the Atlantic side and one day on the Gulf side! Still see red snapper in the market??????

Doesn't matter, have a good run and we harvested too many fish, have a bad run and the population is crashing. Either way gonna end up in a reduction

Keep what is in line with your conscience. I do not go exactly 55 on the Turnpike either.

That's probably why they changed the regs.

Damn. That's rough. The run off of montauk last spring/summer was epic too. 7-10 fish days up to 100+ lbs. My father is gonna be pissssssed

Going to make it tough for the charters looking to get out and catch the couple tuna we use to be able to. 6 guys signing up for one fish may definitely persuade the bookings. While I did see some nice catch stories in NJ, I don't recall that the bite was better than previous years having a great impact on the quota...and personally? ... weather played havoc on attempted trips in many cases....

Its the January default quota .. they usually adjust it in May to more realistic limits .. lets hope this year is no different
