Christmas eve passaic pike! Fin-fightin-fun!

Hope ya all had a great Christmas & Happy Hanukkah...... Looks like ya had a nice Christmas Party too!

Ahhhhh...... I had some time on Christmas eve & got to wet a line......

Oh damn that's huge.

I noticed they actually stock fingerlings in that river often, any idea why they select the passaic in particular?

I might fish for them since they're good in cold weather. Any tips, Ken?

Hiya thmyorke1 - The Passaic is ideal for Pike....... with all of the blow-downs, debris(I`m referring to brush, trees etc. here) & murky water........ makes perfect habitat for those toothy critters. I guess some guys go after `em with bait(dead or alive)..... never tried it myself. I always use various lures with an extremely slow retrieve this time of year. Like any other type of fishin`..... sometimes ya get into a few & sometimes ya don`t....... just gotta keep pluggin` away at it! Good luck!

Hiya MudCat08! Thanks much....... no I never tried bait for `em........ Always use lures regardless of the time of year........(well.....long as there is open water!)

But I think it might be kinda fun to snag an an `ol Esox on dead bait too...... wouldn`t mind tryin` it............
