December Trouting!!!

Headed out last Saturday, 12/3, to do some Trout fishing. It didn't disappoint but was a little tough to get the fish to go hard at the baits. Threw plugs and used some old power cheese but the plugs dominated the Bows on this day. Wound up landing 6 out of 11 on a chilly afternoon. Kept my limit for the smoker this trip and boy oh boy were they tasty!!!:)

Headed back out for a few hours Sunday 12/4 to see if I could get a few more Trout before taking care of family commitments later in the day. Found a few Tigers and cookie cutter Browns!!!

Back on the Trout grounds today after arriving to a boat ramp and body of water that was locked with ice!!!! What an interesting day it was, problems with this, problems with that! Did the best I could to make the best of a crappy morning. Wound up on the SB to look for some Trout and of course they're out there if you want em! Landed a bakers dozen on various plugs and Trout magnets! Mostly Bows but did come tight with 2 nice Browns. Overall a great day considering the morning, late morning started out BADDDDDD!!! LOL!!!

Great job! Never tried a top water plug for trout. I'll have to give it a try. Clearly works. Stockies come out so good in the smoker. Enjoy!

Thanks for looking guys! Hit the grounds again this morning and landed another limit of Bows on jigs! Low and slow was the ticket! I can't believe they were still biting. Air temp when I got to the river was 24 degrees! Haha! Now that's a little brisk for the sensitive Rainbow Trouts if ya ask me! Anyway, like I said, they're out there for the catching if ya want some action! Somewhere on the SB is where you might find me until we get that safe ice!!!

On a side note nice fish. No love for me from the valley, only managed to get one good size slimy torpedo on hard metal and that was all she wrote.
