Finesse walleyes!!!

Seeing all the recent Walleye reports got me all excited lately. Decided to give it a go Saturday to see how hungry my favorite fish really is. They're hungry indeed but I don't think the fishing has peeked yet in my opinion. Hit the far reaches of NW NJ early in the AM on Saturday. It was a balmy 28 degrees at launch time and ice had formed around the edges of the Walleye aquarium. Haven't been to this lake for Eyes in a few years but found them in the same spots from years passed. Blue bird skies, cold front and an oncoming super moon made the fishing tough but manageable. No excuses! Wound up with 7 Eyes on the day and 1 White Cat that viciously hit my jig. 6 of the ole marble Eyes were keepers with only 1 being short. The 3 biggest went 24.5, 22.5 and 21 inches, the rest were just Keepers @ the 18 inch mark. Fun day none the less but you really needed to break out some old school finesse tactics to come tight on the Reef Runners! Gotta love fall fishing! TIGHT LINEZ!!!:)

who the hell catches 7 walleye with 6 of them keeper size in NJ and calls it tough but manageable?!?! Nice job man...tried to get my buddy to go there saturday afternoon, but he insisted on elsewhere...where we proceeded to get skunked...no, sorry, i caught a perch the size of my pinky :rolleyes:

I got a bucket of shiners waiting to get pierced by walleye teeth sitting in my garage right now!
