I never had this happen while fishing! Watch out! Bald Eagle!

Now that's something I had never seen in my life! A Bald Eagle literally dove in the water after my Duck Lure then landed in a tree right by me!! * That had to be the most amazing thing I ever saw while fishing! I jerked the lure violently away just as I saw the incoming "dive bomber" with his talons ready, just at the last few seconds!.....causing him to miss the duck as he smashed into the lake! Absolutely incredible to see!

It`s not always just about fishing that makes a memory.....as this was quite the experience indeed!

That's amazing. Fox hunters have reported that their motorized decoys were getting attacked by hawks and eagles - but this is the first time I've heard of an eagle attacking a fishing lure.

That duck lure is quacking me up. :D

A Bald Eagle is not a specialist. They'll eat whatever they can catch. They'll even scavenge carcasses. They prefer to eat fish, but they'll eat ducklings if they can catch them.

A few winters ago on Greenwood, I released a Crappie that was having a rough time getting his bearings back. Did the Nemo wave on the surface for a few minutes until a Bald Eagle came down and snatched him out of the water. Spectacular sight to see.
