rahway river cleanup this saturday

not sure how many of you know but there is going to be a rahway river cleanup this saturday starting at 9:00. weather is supposed to be mint! gloves and trash bags will be provided. all trash should be left at Mohawk park. im not sure if its the whole river, or just my section but ill be out there and will probably take the canoe. looking for 1 other person to paddle and pick trash, ill also be with my 4 year old son if you want to get out with a kid its a really nice easy float. im not planning on picking tires, and going through the mud and muck with the kids, but there's enough random soccer balls, bottles, lawn chairs, etc floating to fill a ton of bags. also, if anyone wants to bring their own yak or canoe to pick trash you're more than welcome to walk through my backyard to use as a launching pad.

I just spoke with wife and I am going to try and join. I could bring my kayak as well and help pick up some of the flotsam. I hope this covers all of Cranford as I think the Nomahegan park section has even more trash than the south side section. I will send you a PM Phil.

I believe it is the whole river, I guess other groups(boy scouts, church groups, etc) focus on certain sections but no one is going to be turned away from cleaning up trash wherever they want. I missed it last year because we had just moved into the hood. my son has soccer at 9 then ill be heading out.
