I am 20 miles south of Daytona. The storm is coming right at us! We should be minimum 100 mph winds for hours. Maybe stronger. I have water batteries coolers full of ice and a fueled up Genny.

I just hope the roof stays on!!!!

Just spoke to a good friend of mine not far from you in New Smyrna Beach.
He's 5 minutes from the coast. His 17' CC is on a trailer in backyard.
He's concerned that this could be worse than the back to back to back canes they had 11-12 years ago, in terms of forecasted storm surge. He is hunkering down. There's only one road in & out of his development. His water & canned goods inventory replenished & propane grille & generator fueled. I hope you're well-prepared too Steve.
I probably would have left already, but that's just me. Be safe. Prayers up for all you guys down there.

Best of luck Shrimpy.... My daughter and her family live in Port Saint Lucie and they are under a voluntary evacuation... They boarded up the windows and got out of Dodge last night and will be waiting it out on the west coast.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone down there... This looks like one hell of a storm so be sure to let us know when you come out on the other end.

I'm on Merritt Island and it looks like we're going to be ground zero with winds up to 145mph with a 17ft storm surge. I let some of the capts from Port Canaveral keep their charter boats on my dock. I hope I don't wake up with a 45ft charter boat on my roof. To add even more on top of that they shut off the water until further notice so we have to use canal water to flush the head. It's like we're back in the stone age.

I have a house mainland side in Ormond, 3blocks off intercoastal. Not going to be pretty.... Good luck down there!

They eye of the storm is over NEW Smyrna right now. Just spoke to family down there and they said it is not pretty. Winds are insane.
