Hey guys,
Took a trip today to one of my local river spots today to test out my new waders and saw about 15 nice size trout in a hole that I know of.
Tried everything... jigs tipped with salmon eggs, worms, spinners and trout magnets...no luck. It was around mid afternoon. They were literally 5 feet away from me and nothing..any suggestions for me for when I go back on Sunday???
I have no idea why they weren't hitting anything in my arsenal. I'm a little frustrated...

Waters low and crystal clear on most streams, creeks and rivers! Waters still pretty warm in most spots as well! I'm using 3 lb fluorocarbon as my main line and leader! With no rain and a super warm summer these fish are spooky! Gotta think outside the box!

If you see them they likely see you. Stealth is key...

Clear water is your enemy right now, but since you know where they were laying out, try floating your favorite bait a good ways away from up stream, Another possibility is that these trout might be hold overs and the spawning urge has hit them,in which case until they figure out best spawning area they probably won't be all that interested in feeding.

Thanks everyone! I totally agree. Water is low and crystal clear.
I'm going to try the red mill on Sunday to test my luck there. In the meantime I got some pretty cool shots of some smallmouths hitting my senko and a crapload of suckers that were pretty big. And pretty fearless. pretty cool to see.http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y413/capspath83/Freshwater%20Fishing%20-%20Raritan%20River/898C4ADA-EEBD-40BD-A694-C2F546867D3A_zpskduzkhz7.png (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/capspath83/media/Freshwater%20Fishing%20-%20Raritan%20River/898C4ADA-EEBD-40BD-A694-C2F546867D3A_zpskduzkhz7.png.html)
