High winds precluded offshore fishing this past weekend, so Chrisper and I decided to dedicate another Saturday night to chasing everyone's favorite catfish - flatheads!

We set up right before dark, and before we could set all the rods out I landed an average flathead. The rest of the night would prove to be difficult fishing, with lots of weed in the water. We were constantly having to clear the rigs, and lost quite a few baits in the process. We still managed to land 3 more flatheads before calling it a night.

Sunday and Monday I was able to find a little bit of time to chase some river pike in the evening. They were more than willing to cooperate, and I ended up with a bunch of pike and a big crappie that decided to eat a pike lure. Guess he was hungry. No monsters, but solid fish from the mid 20's up to around 34 inches.
