You're going to get a bunch of different answers, but the most popular combo is 50lb braid with 50-80lb mono topshot. When using braid, make sure you either put tape on the spool or some mono backing so the line doesn't slip on the spool.

50 braid. Top shot can be 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 or 100, depends on conditions. I go as heavy as I can get away with. Sometimes it just doesn't matter. Some days 130 mono isn't out of the question and others you can't get a bite unless you're using 30 fluorocarbon.
My Favorite Braided line i use for the past couple of years has been multi color Diawa boat braid in 55 lb test. Nice round liner that is coated and thin diameter. I like the feel of it in my hands. I also like the multi color braid as i can thumb the spool as i am close to bottom so i can gently place my sinker without spooking the fish by pounding my sinker.
As for top shot Use about 15-20 ft of Andy mono in 40- 80 lb test based on area i am fishing. As for my rigs normally use flouro leader in the 20-80 lb class. Also dependent on area and bite. Favorite rig is the slider rig on long leader. When fishing down south will either fish slider or most often snafu 0n 60-80 lb leader. As for hooks normally use Owner octopus in the 4/0 - 5/0 size
That should cover your bases. Hope that helps
