Got out around 3 pm today. Not 3 am. F'n crazy, right? I had to cover every square inch of my flesh with clothing and sunblock so I didn't turn to ash or dust lol.
Hit the "other" river in search of toothy critters. It's been about 5 months since I last targeted them. Managed 6 fish with about twice as many swipes and dropped fish. They ranged from hammer handle to 33". It was nice to be out during daylight hours although I received a tongue lashing when I got home. I can't win these days!
Snapped a couple pics. The mud makes it tough to take great shots...
Last shot--the count with the count lol. Gotta love dad life!

Nice pike! Tell me, can you actually see in the daylight? Figured you'd have nocturnal vision by now lol.

6 is def good, can't remember the last time i caught that many in one shot. i've stopped fishing there as much due to the productivity way down from what it used to be a couple of years ago. used to get to a good spot and pull out 6-7 fish ranging from 27-33" like it was nothing. spots have changed, tactics changed i guess. brought my stuff to hit it today, see what happens.

And the Jigman fishes during the day! Amazing! Nice fish from the Millstone buddy! Solid action indeed! Good stuff! These Pike are capable of swimming for miles and miles if a food source isn't there, or if the water gets too warm like it has been! They'll travel looking for suitable conditions so they don't rollover and die!
2012! I walked up to one of my spots in late August to find 10-12 Pike floating all over the place! That was a very warm year! Water temps, forage, rain, VERY IMPORTANT!:D

Tons of bait, bluegills and small bass where I fished Monday. Water was way low but a few spots yielded multiple strikes once the sun started to go down. I've had double digit days a few yrs ago. I guess the jon boat and yakker spooked the fish longer than expected with the lower water. Yet to get one over 34" on that river.

Couldn't agree more...though it looks like some guys on here are finding the fish just fine. My old spots just aren't producing this year.

I just keep casting. The fish are there. Low water with some clarity makes them a bit spooky. Just keep casting and try to stay low
