8/19 Flatheads

Went up too look for the flatys again. Had the rods set up by 7:30. One tiny runoff around 8. Couple more runoffs in the next 2 hours and only one fish landed. Fish took alot of line out before swallowing the bait. My best so far at around 28 inches. The bite completely died once the big bright moon came out from behind the trees. Didn't get a hit for the next 3 hours when the moon came out. A nice night to say the least. Wished the fishing was a little better.

Very nice fat healthy flathead. Even though you landed just the one it's the anticipation of landing that monster that in part makes this fishery as great as it is. Full moon or "big moon" definitely seems to be the kiss of death although there are flat heads which will patrol at night during light nights just the odds in my opinion go way down. I'd still rather be waiting for the right run off than sleeping, each of us will get all the sleep we need later on down the road! Great job on the flathead, nice healthy looking fish!
