topwater smallmouth at the rock

met up with a friend and hit the res after work today. we get to spot #1 and started throwing grubs right away we started to get stink pans and one little smallmouth ,switched to a tiny torpedo and start getting short strikes then hooked a decent lmb only to have a clean hand release at the canoe.then a couple of casts later whamo a 15" smallmouth crushed the torpedo.we also got a couple of crappies on jig and bobber.the baitfish were active just before the sun went behind the trees. a nice time at a beautiful place.:cool:

Sounds like some nice action! I've been wanting to check out that reservoir, but I haven't gotten a chance to make it up there yet.
