Went back for more fluke action at sandy in the morning and found them.
Started out very slow with no fish or bites but slowly but surely they started to bite the more ground we covered.
Caught many fluke shorts and one keeper fluke. 3 Big searobins as well. No snapper blues were to be seen in the surf. They may be in the bay side but we fished the ocean side.
Waves were a bit rough, around 3ft high. Not ideal for fluke but they were still around.
also saw a big pod of dolphins very close to shore. they went up north past the tip of the hook, and then returned down south; was really cool to see! Never seen them in the wild before. Maybe they were driving schools of bunker, who knows. they were slapping the surface of the water with their tails.
We fished from 7am-1pm.
The rigs were standard fluke bucktail rigs with gulp.
The fluke are still in the surf but early morning is key!
