The NJF trip will be Oct. 26-27(Wed./Thurs.) leaving @ 8AM. Claim your site early as it will fill fast, especially if this year is anywhere near as good as last year---& IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE!!!!
Claim your berth by calling Jill Johnson @ 732-330-5246. If no answer be sure to leave a message & your call will be answered ASAP. Please get your payment in promptly to insure your name being on the boarding list. Names will be added in order of receipt. This trip is limited to 22 anglers... Make the report and then read it!!!!

Finally report/pix of bigger than "footballs" in the northern canyons...water temps coming down and fantastic water color...This is not an iron man trip; it's for all of us on the NJ Fishing site...Doesn't make a difference as to how little you know about offshore fishing, lots of fishers to help you along with a great crew.

I was looking to book this trip with a friend. When I looked about 2 weeks ago, it was not yet designated a "njfishing.com trip". I'm excited to get to fish alongside some of the members of this site.
I have never fished offshore and I have a few questions if anyone might be willing to give me advice. If so, please let me know on here and send me a private message (or I can contact you that way)

Chucky will give you all the correct information. He is the best. Met him on the NJFishing tuna trip about 4 or 5 years ago and he was a true gentleman and is always willing to help anybody! Oh, and he is a fishing MACHINE!!! :D

No Tim. Double checked with him today and he has a big project at work that'll go through Thanksgiving that he is leading. I am asking his brother Aaron who was with us on the last 48hr trip. I will keep you posted!!!

I got the approval from work and more importantly, the wife! I called Jill today and left a voice mail. Just waiting to hear back from her so I can pay for the trip. Sending my reel out to Basil to have it respooled since it's been almost 3 years.

Just added the names to fill the trip---due to an omission back in the beginning, we are 23 eager anglers. This should be the final boarding order barring any cancellations. As departure day gets closer, start saying your chants, paying homage to your favorite aquatic god/king for fishable weather.

Sat on conference calls at work today making assist hooks and practicing knots in 80lb. Finalized my what reel on what rod, time to set drags.....if we get blown out I may take up drowning worms and catching sunnies.

I've been meaning to ask, what is Capt. Bob's opinion on setting up an extra rod with a swordfish rig while chunking?

Just over two-2-weeks 'til we go & finally from latest reports, the Hudson is beginning to hold tuna, yellows & birds along with a few swords...let's all hope for a weather window...I can't wait and probably, neither can ya'll....

Reels are spooled, drags have been set and reset 3-4 times, rigs are made and tested, boats are reporting fish in the water.....7 days to go!

Still a ways off but the offshore forecast for Wednesday is great & I imagine Thurs. will be as good. If this weeks 36 was any indication, next weeks should be even better as each week there are more tuna showing up...finally...

My condolences for your losses. Call the Gambler office, they have a standby list for the trip. If they can fill the spot, I believe they'll refund your payment.

Bring layers---can't have too much---better to have it and not need it than not have it and be cold! Standing @ the rail @ night with no action & wind blowing, one tends to chill with not much body movement. At least that's true for me... The Gambler coffee will warm you up:eek:
