I haven't gotten out in six weeks .. Dying to fish . Last summer my work was slow as hell with plenty of free days to spend on the water. Clearly not the case this year. As my wife reminds me no fishing means Im working. I guess it's good but not really :( Can't wait for the fall Muskies.

Those are damn close to flood heights on the RARITAN. 28' would likely connect canal and towpath. That's when it gets fun. Spreads the fish out and flushes more bait around. Prob take a week to lose the Yoo-hoo color though

Great to see significant rainfall in our area.
God willing, I'll be out this weekend.

The R is dropping fast! Didn't hook anything this morning! Trying to get a lure where you want it to be was a task in 10,000 CSF's. River was flying at 24.5 when I got there! It's running at 21.80 now. If anythings swimming up river, tonight, tomorrow and the rest of this week is the time to hit it! "HINT!!!"
It's about time we got the rain! After all it seems like we haven't had a real good soaking in 30 years! Good luck to all you Sturgeon anglers! LOL!!!:D

i'm sure every river is different but you'll be surprised how fast the water will go back down without more rain since it was so low already.

This seems to be the pattern now with the rivers and streams. Rivers and steams are very low until a storm passes through then after the storm the water level drops fast in a few days. All the streams and rivers I know where always flowing well 5 years a go now....this.

When it has been dry, even a huge dump of rain rolls off the hard ground and into the streams. The smaller ones go up,then down quickly. It's all runoff instead of groundwater seepage. The larger rivers will stay up longer, but will still go down fairly quickly if there is no additional rain. As much as these very heavy, short rains help, we are better off with 4 or 5 days of a light, soaking rain than the quick monsoons we have received.

Excellent conditions for guys wanting to try to get into flatheads. Should be on the feed bag the next few days with all the extra water
