With the rivers as alive as they are decided to get up early and try it again. Up at 5:20...in the river at 5:40...first fish 5:50. Nice! Fog lifting off the water, quiet, no one else around...love that. They were hitting a top water popper really good for about an hour. (Credit Fasteddie posts for tip) It was a smaller one like 3 inches in silver/black back with a feather on the back treble. I've owned that lure for about 10 years and I think those are the first fish I've caught on it! Got 8 fish that way with a few nice ones in the mix. Damn that's fun stuff on top. Then they just stopped hitting it. So switched over to the trusty stiko 4 inch green pumpkin weightless t rigged for the next hour and got 7 more. Not a bad way to start the day at all. Now I can drink beer in the AC this afternoon while the temp climbs to blistering today. :D Pics to prove it.
