View Full Version : More Smallie FUN...... 7/17

Got to the river a little late today and almost missed the topwater bite. My cousin Vinnie, "Shucker" was down there collecting bait for Smallies and Cats as I pulled up. I think he managed 2 cookie cutter Channels, a 6Lb Channel and a Smallie.It was good to see him out there whacking some fish.

I got 3 Smallies on top and the rest came on Sencos, wacky style. Not as much action as the other day but a nice steady pick with a Bronzeback every 30 minutes or so. Biggest was around 16 inches or so. Visited another spot on the way home but it was the Dead Sea. Gotta love those Raritan river Smallies, they are some tough fish for sure. Water was up a hair and brown today from last nights rain.

On a side note, I knew you were really good. But you're so good, you're catching Sunday's (7/17) fish on Thursday :D!

Shit! I think I was in that sun a little too long! Possibly had a heat stroke and forgot what day it was! The date should be 7/14! LOL!!!! Not enough water today.............

Very nice. I grew up on the Raritan and it's amazing what you can catch in there.

Nice job dude...gonna try to play a little hooky this afternoon if I can and hit the river before the weekend mayhem...if not then maybe real early AM tomorrow. Or maybe both! :D Next time your thinking of heading down my way give a shout. I haven't had a sick day in a while and could maybe swing one.:rolleyes:
