Found a dead juvenile hen mallard attached to vegetation with discarded fishing line in a flooded field in a park yesterday evening. Too bad I didn't get there earlier and rescue it.

Every place with Fishing access needs one of these!

This is a shame!

or put it in your pocket or bag...it's not even laziness...takes the same amount of effort to put it in your pocket or bag than to throw it on the ground...people just don't care

It's sad. Sometimes we simply lose line and there is nothing we can do to prevent these things. Most of the time however it is simple laziness. I can't count the times I've found a handful of fishing line on a stream bank. I don't think some people realize that the next time that stream floods, that line will be in the water along with that Styrofoam bait container and those empty beer cans. Unfortunately there are way too many anglers who just don't give a damn.

Thats sad. I always make sure i pick up my line. Even pick up other peoples line that is floating around or in the brush. Put it in my bag and get rid of it the right way

these are the reasons we lose fishing area everyday because some peeps just don't give a Sh&$.lets take brady bridge as an example.i fish that area often and have picked up buckets of trash and miles of line.you can clean the area at 5pm on a Saturday and sunday at 5pm it looks like a pig sty.you can fill a bucket with illegal fish but you can't carry your trash away.

The mono is bad but I really hate when I snag up on 65# braid with a 5 oz sinker still attached via the jackass rig lol. And this is usually in still or slow moving water. Some people either just don't get it, just don't care or just don't know better bc of where and how they were raised.

A wise man by the name of Ken on a few occasions has said to me "you can't fix stupid!"

Fished Carnegie lake a few weeks ago and got snagged on some line in a popular from shore cat fishing spot. By the time I got done pulling it up I had at least 100 yards of three different kinds of line some of which was 30 lb mono at least and like 50 lb braid...a 3 oz and a 2 oz pyramid weight...a red eyed shad rattle bait...a heddon zara spook...a jigging spoon...and live bait rig with a 5 oz pyramid weight attached. Took a bit of time and cut my hands to hell but felt good to get all of that out of the water. Like others have said I am constantly picking up or detangling line from shore, in bushes, trees, etc. Hate that stuff being left out there.

Good to hear the guys on this sight are doing their part...as usual...to clean up as much as they can.

what a shame!!! Even when I'm out in my boat, all my wasted line goes in one of my side pockets, and all my plastic worms and senko's etc. get tossed in the corner until I get in and toss them all in the trash. People just dont give a shit!!!
