Check YouTube for "How To Tie a Dropper for a Paternoster Rig". I've tried it. It's easy to tie and seems to have sufficient knot strength. I'd put up the link but I don't know how.
Dropper Loop is a 50% line strength knot. I don't know the strength of the knot above but it's similar to a Spider Hitch.

Unless there is a little bit of weight on the line(like 1/2 to 1 ounce) I suck at tying a dropper loop myself. What I do instead is I tie a surgeons loop. You make a loop, then make an overhand knot with the loop and pull the loop through the much smaller loop two times. Then you just pull it tight, I haven't had any issues with this and it's much easier to tie.

You tube is your friend. They have vidoes on how to do every knot you can think of.
Are you having issues with the dropper loop? Why switch it up? For me personalty i used to tie the surgeons loop but switched to the dropper loop and have not looked back. Very strong knot

I tie the same knot for inshore fishing. It's easy, quick as heck and I'm fishing again. I use them for seabass, fluke and tog.
For offshore seabass I'll tie my leaders at home with three hooks and make all dropper loops. I carry a doz made up and I'm good for a trip or three.

If I'm in a hurry I tie a surgeons loop.

I SUCK at the dropper loop. I'll want it to be 6 inches and it will end up being 2 inches. A common problem I'm told....

^^ kiwi dropper is a good knot. I have no problem tying the dropper loop, you just have to start with a big enough loop. Surgeon's loop is the easiest, just leave the tag end long enough to tie a second one for your bucktail.

Yup. I can consistently tie this more quickly and stronger than a traditional dropper. YMMV.
The spider hitch/surgeon's loop is quick to tie, but the structure of the knot makes it a poor dropper, as the main line pulls across the knot, tending to cut it. If you're using a heavy leader, that might not matter, but there are times it does.

i always go with the dropper loop. not very hard to tie. i'll make a a loop about 6". after the the knot is snug i will snip the loop so there is a single line out and then i tie a teaser to this "tag" end. sounds kind of crazy to cut the line but i never had the knot come undone. also it helps having only a single line as sometimes it's tough getting a double line through the eye of a hook.
the surgeons loop.. ie like when tying a ling rig... is not an inline knot. its just a loop made in doubled line. so it will put a kink in the entire rig. does it really make a huge difference, nope
