Tin Knocker Sportfishing

This past weekend we fished Mako Mania. Saturday the fishing was a little slow only producing 4 blue shark releases. On Sunday we decide to combine the forces of two fishing crews and it pays off. Sunday morning Capt. John Pellegrino and Capt. Robert Gold of Gold Rush fishing team review the temperature charts and make a decision on a location. Leave the inlet 5:30 am and arrive at our spot around 8 am. Deploy the baits and start fishing. In a short while we release a small Mako and then 1 blue shark. We decide to push off a little further. Start fishing and release 2 blue sharks and then another Mako. Then 3pm rolls around and it is game on. We get a bite on the long line Lipid sets the hook and the Mako comes flying out of the water, he then makes another run and we knew we were in for a long fight. We get the line back on the reel and then he makes another run and comes out of the water 2 more times. Finally at 3:45 we are able to sink the flying gaff into the fish, clean up and head for the scales. We weigh in and it is 271lbs and we take 2nd place. It was a great day on the water with 2 great crews combined as 1. A special thanks to all the crew Stan, Scott, Lipid, Dennis, and Jeff.
