Fished rocky areas with Water Melon Swing Impact Keitechs and landed 7 Bronzoni's from 16-18".. Nothing real big but bite was fairly consistent for the 4 hours from 9:30-1:30. C&R all fish..

Nice! My two attempts there so far this year have been a zero. Both times nobody else on the lake we spoke with was catching either, so I guess I just picked bad days. Glad to see someone there with the bite on.

I'll take 16 to 18" smallies all day long! Great little fighters especially on light stuff. Sounds like a great outing to me. Nicely Done!

Great job. I found the smallies very active in the hour I fished yesterday also. Wish it was always like that.

well done.smallmouth are great fish they have cool color markings and fight real well.there is a slight difference with their markings in different lakes and rivers.the ones you caught are really heathy looking.do you ever throw jig and pigs at them?drop shot rigs with a 4" worm works well for me. if they fail helgramites are my back up plan this time of year.:cool:

So many approaches. You can spend eight hours and just target smallmouths or pick any of the other species or mix up the game. It's nice to see an outing done purely for smallmouths on a very weedy lake, otherwise, if it's the lake I think it is.
