My spinal stenosis has been real bad. Its been hard for me to get out. When my son was a young boy and a teenager we would get up early every Saturday and Sunday and go fishing. Last night my now 29 yr old son called me and said dad meet at this lake we have fished a lot and I can drive right up to lake. He set up my chair and we had a ball we caught bass pickerel perch crappie and rock bass. I guess I am very blessed I spent all that time fishing with him when he was young. Because he said there is no one Id rather fish with then you dad. Sorry for the long post just wanted to share

That is probably the coolest thing I've ever heard...awesome story. Hope my 7 year old son "gets it" like that some day.

I'm 33 and can attest to what your son said. Time on the water with my 65 yr old father over the course of the last 25 yrs or so compares to nothing else. There were days we talked endlessly; others where few words were exchanged--but all very much memorable and vital to creating the priceless relationship I have with father, especially after his major heart attack and emergency triple bypass surgery.
I can directly relate with your son. Get well man. Stenosis is brutal but treatments, therapies and surgeries are advancing. Perhaps relief is on the horizon for you.

Best memories in life will be fishing trips with your children. Great story and thanks for sharing! Life isn't always about how much you have in your bank account, it's about the relationships and memories you make along the way and the impact you have on other people's lives. Sounds like you have a very rich life my friend! Great stuff!

Guys again thank you for all your nice words. I always said fishermen and hunters are some of the best people.I am in the middle of scheduling surgery now. So hopefully if Jesus is willing in the not so distant future I will be able to walk streams for Smallies with my son. But for now at least I can sit by a lake. Again thanks guys
