back up to lh again last night.with the weather and fish the night before I had to give it a try.get up the lake around 7:30pm and start casting.it is not long before I am joined by my son and good friend fred.on freds 3rd cast he hooks up,line dumping off the reel.i look at my son and we both say"striper",wrong.its a good musky{true strain}.this fish would not give up.it had fred running around the place and even jumped out of the water.we get it to the net and once inside the lure falls free of the fish.we keep the fish in the water and get a quick lenth on it,44 inches.fred dose the cpr and after a few minutes this fish just wants to go.released unharmed to fight another day.things calm back down and we are back to casting and reeling when my son hooks up.same thing, line pouring off the reel but this time its a good hybrid.great fight with some long runs.weighed in at 7lbs 14oz.well that's two good fish tonight I'm thinking while I get back to casting waiting for my turn.
it was not to be,i pulled a skunk but hey that's fishing.might have to head back tonight to see if I can shake the smell.

awesome job on the musky, catching it on lighter gear and leaving it in the net/water after the long fight. it's not the fight that kills the fish, it's taking it out of the water immediately after. sounds like you guys played it perfectly!
We had an opposite night...11 fish caught between two of us and every single one was a walleye between 18-21 inches. 7 of them from the exact same spot like they were stacked in line just waiting! beautiful night either way!

Glad to see you guys found some action, that Muskie must have been sweet. I was out in the yak, managed a mixed bag with a 24.5" Hybrid as the kicker.

i'm going to get some rest for the contest this weekend. my head feels like it's 100 lbs i might not make it through the rest of the work day. 3 hours of sleep each night for the past couple of days finally started taking it's toll on me. good luck, let us know how you do.
