finally put the crappie slab hunting on hold and went out for some night time eyes. It was slow. fished about 4 hours with 2 average fish. bait was around by not like i expected it to be. I'll take it for a first night trip of the season though. hopefully get another try at it tomorrow or the next night.

I just got off the big lake at 1 tonight. Was my first time ever trying the night bite but had no luck not even a hit. Not sure what places to target or what to look for. Was aggrivating because the conditions were perfect.

I like seeing those night catches, and want to get out late sometime...planning years ahead, I guess. Followed reports of night action in The Fisherman for years and still follow. Now that I have the squareback canoe....just that a 4 horse will help, instead of only a 55 thrust. Getting there. It's all but impossible with a Condo Association, but I figured this much out at last.

Nice walleye. And I liked Lou Martinez' article in Federated Sportsmen's News this month on night fishing walleye, etc. Bunker Dunker's seminar presentation, March 12 last year, unforgettable, the way he talked about dealing with weeds by June made a lasting impression.
