Good afternoon everyone.

Me and friend are planning to have our first salt water fishing outing of the year this Saturday. Planning to stay on the shore this weekend.. If we aren't hopping on a boat we generally stick to the wall, Perth Amboy piers, or IBSP. Looking to mix it up this time around the RB. Clearly I'm not asking for exact locations as I'm sure no one is willing to give um' up  However, I was hoping if I could receive some guidance.

I've been doing a lot of Google maps research. I've been eyeballing the shoreline immediately east and west of the Driscoll, both sides of the river. It looks to me there's a plethora of shoreline access, however I can't seem to figure out if it its private or not. Plenty of roads, but a lot of it looks commercial.. Black ditch if that means anything to anyone.. Are these area's legal to access?

Just looking for some guidance. I wouldn't be surprised if I got the old no spot burning line thrown my way, but if anyone wants to help out two young fishermen who's letting anything they catch swim.. It would be appreciated!

Thanks gentlemen!

Cliffwood Beach, Keyport, Union Beach and Port Monmouth, all have lots of access. Zoom in with Google map and write down the street names that lead to water. Should be Bluefish and Bass all around. Try to time your trip to high water as these areas have lots of shallow shoreline.

Good Luck!

Go see Pete at AH bait and tackle on Rt36. He is a good guy and will help you out. He is also a sponsor.

Thank you for the input! I'll start at AH tackle and work my way from there!

I'm sure AH tackle can provide this information but - I'd like to try and be prepared before I head out. What do you think would be the best course of action for Blue Fish and possibly some bass action?

My plan - My friend and I each throw out a live Killie or bunker chunk on a bait and wait line. While they sit I was thinking we each throw and retrieve plastics or metal on another pole.

You might want to think about crabbing too if you are going to be at a pier. They can make a great meal.
