Catch of the Day 5/7 - 5/9

Took a few days off this week to enjoy the lovely spring weather we're having. :D First day was Saturday so I took my brother to a nearby resi for some bass & crappie. Hoped for better weather but it was cool and drizzling all morning. Still managed to put a few nice fish in the boat. Got a couple smallies, biggest went about 17". Also got a couple crappie including one serious slab at just a hair under 15".... :) Still kinda slow day with water temps in the 50's.......

Today me and pops hit a shed resi. Weather was better but the wind was making things difficult. First fish of the day was a beast of a smallie! 18/19" hit a jerkbait and fought great!!!! Couple full jumps and all! Also picked off a few smaller red eyes alone the way.... Surprise of the day were the two stockie bows I managed to hook. Both at opposite sides of the lake far from stocking points. I knew they were in the but never caught any, lol. Both hit hard and were pretty feisty!!

Definitely enjoying the vacation so far and plan on wetting a few more lines before its back to reality.........

nice going g, love those bronzebacks they fight like hell. that first resi looks like one in morris county. the trout aka concrete critter must have been a nice surprise, how far did those critters get from the stocking place?those watershed lakes hold some really nice bronzebacks. any day you can fish with your dad is a great opportunity, my dad died when i was 9 never got to fish with him you are a lucky man god bless and tight lines to you both:cool:

Thanks all! I agree, being able to fish with my dad is definitely a gift and a blessing. He had open heart surgery not to long ago and has progressed faster than the drs thought possible. Since recovery, we have put some hours in fixing the boat and been hitting water hard ever since. Feel lucky to have what seems like borrowed time keep at it. Not to mention, he's the only one I can rely on being up at the crAck of dawn to be out there, lol.....

As for the rangers hat..... I'm a rabid Rangers fan 12 months a year. Good, bad, or ugly, I'm watching every single game during the season, and reading every roster update in the off-season. It's in my blood...... :D
