.

Looks like he filled the fish up with lead shot to make it heavier. :D

That fish just doesn't look right.

Unfortunately its destined for the bedroom wall....

The fish is now at Higgins Taxidermy in Linesville, where it’s being mounted on a piece of driftwood, Clark said.

Just for some perspective, NJ's current record is 2lb6oz, but the retired record is an insane 4lb4oz (caught in 1865)!

Perhaps. I've seen some large 1+ pound perch the last few years.

If I had to guess where the next record perch will come from, I would guess Merrill Creek Reservoir.

Other possible locations include the Passaic River and perhaps even the Delaware River.

I can see a beast coming outta the Passaic. Scarred, chew stick, eye missing with his mouth around a mickeys hand grenade. A perch that has seen it all lol.

There's a growing population of yellows in the RARITAN too. There's certainly no lack of food in that River!

nah they don't release potential state records. state inspects them, checks for lead stuffing etc.

that's an absolute monstrosity. must have been caught a while ago to still be full of eggs? or is that bait fish in its' belly haha
