went out 6:30am Saturday morning with my son.the bite was slow for the first 30 minutes with only a small perch and a sunnie.made a quick move and it was game on with the crappie, white & yellow perch, sunnies and of course slime
darts.we stayed put until 10:30 and had fish the entire time.took off to take care of a few things.we get back up the late around 4pm to join my other son in his boat.we tried a few more early season spots and were not disappointed.
we found some nice yellow perch and crappie along with the ever present slime
darts, they are every where in numbers.we fished till dark.all fish were released
on Saturday.Sunday we had work around the house which pretty much took all
day.we finished up around 3pm and my son says"ya want to hit the lake?"in
minutes we are loading the truck and headed back to lh.we start fishing around 3:45 and it game on right away with some real nice crappies.mini-mite jig 2ft under a bobber was the ticket.reel it 4ft and let it set.they were crushing it as it set.green or yellow seemed to be the colors of choice.we fished till 6:30pm and kept 6 big crappies for diner.the fish are there

Nice job sir!!! I spent my Saturday at my spillway and ended up with a nice mess of perch and crappies myself. It was cold this weekend...but going to warm up this week...so it should be "game on" by the end of the week.

I thought the cold might slow them down too but was not the case.we were catching them yesterday afternoon in the snow and Saturday morning you had to stop every 10 minutes and clean the ice out of the eyelets.i to am planning on hitting the lake again Thursday.lake is still down about a foot so make sure your bobbers are not set to deep.

we have been catching eyes by the bridge on the small husky jerks while fishing for the perch.the night fishing won't happen until the herring start which should be soon is this weather holds.

Got out for a couple of hours from shore yesterday afternoon. Panfish are still around although have to assume that the bite will wind down in a week or two?
