I am looking for a cabin to rent for me and a bunch of my college buddies in august in the Adirondacks. We are looking for a cheap cabin with decent fishing that isnt afraid to rent to college kids. Anyone have any experience renting places in this area that can give me a good idea where to look?

I stayed at Motel Long Lake and Cottages once and it wasn't bad at all. Good fishing right from the property.

Do you intend to fish lakes, rivers/streams, or both? You might want to come to a decision about that with your friends if you haven't already.

How did it go with your attempts at fly fishing in northeastern Jersey (http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84972)?

Check out Tail of the Pup in Ray Brook, NY between Saranac and Lake Placid. I stayed there in college with my buddies a few times and very inexpensive for that are and near good fishing.
There is a nice pub attached to it as well and it is within walking distance of a convenience store with booze.

I disappeared for most of last year, only got out fishing once but for a good reason. Because of this thread and all you guys on this forum I finally found my fishing camp I've been looking for. Passing time in the winter, dreaming of the soft water season and randomly one day I catch this thread and browse the sites listed and found something that was worth going to take a look at. I fish the Central region of the adirondacks but at 4.5 hours away its not something that you can do too often. But there was a listing within the Adirondack park and only 3 hours away. I went up to check it out a few days later and the rest is history. 60 acres of woods with not too much (trees) around my camp(er) and a perfect jump off point to fish the many hundreds of ponds, lakes and streams of the Adirondacks. I'll post a picture when I can. In the meantime here's to you guys. Thanks and Happy New Years. Tight Lines in 2017.
Uploading pictures failed. You guys will just have to come up to Northville NY (Great Sacandaga Lake) and see for yourself.

Nice
Give us the GPS address and let us know where you hid the extra key
Good luck with it
Depending on the type of fishing you are planning on doing, the West Branch of the Ausable has a some amazing Trout fishing. You can stay at a nice lodge like Hungry Trout Resort, or you can get some nice cabins at the Lake Placid / Whiteface Mountain. KOA.
