It was a fairly nice day early if you don't mind a little dampness so jdtuna and I headed out to take advantage of mid January open water. I had the new fish finder rigged up and ready for its first spin.

The morning started out slow with just one missed hit. After a little exploring we had a late morning window and boated some fish. Nothing huge, but some nice rainbows and keeper lake trout.

They rainbows we're loving the silver surfer fly today! The laker on a rapala. 5-10ft depth. No fish caught deep. We saw some trout caught from shore as well.

The wind really kicked up afternoon and pretty much suggested we call the day a little early.
