.

I though this topic might be interesting to Andy in light of his dedication to keeping our river systems clean and free of trash.

In a way, we are all victims of illegal dumpers because we have to see the materials they dump in our outdoor spaces . Important access points to our favorite fishing spots have been closed due to illegal dumping.

In an effort to discourage illegal dumping, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection is posting the names and pictures of people charged with illegal dumping in our outdoor spaces like wildlife management areas, state parks, and the D&R Canal.

Click through the tabs at the top of the webpage to read about the cases organized by the potential fine and click on the picture to move on to the next case.

you gotta be a real shithead to illegally dump into the woods or rivers, especially when there are so many open dumpsters behind huge strip malls and construction sites!

LOVE IT! Great use of GIS technology.

If you have a smart phone be sure to setup the app/web browser so that you can report any illegal activity. http://www.stopdumping.nj.gov/

I am determined to catch the dirt bag that keeps dumping construction debris along the Rockaway River!

Definitely a great website Eskimo, thanks for sharing. Also hope you catch that prick that's dumping Squatch!! I was bank beating the other day on the Rockaway and found the heart of Patterson behind the Montville Diner. Ppl are ufckin slobs!!
Was also at a local Passaic spot when I noticed some dick threw his coffee cup down there near me. So I approached said dickhead with some very unfriendly words & 3 options. He took the ez way out & picked up the trash. And, if he wasn't eyeballing me after that, he wouldn't have had to deal with the cops I called, HAHAA!! As bugs used to say,"Ain't I a stinker", lol! Better than getting my "Dexter" on I suppose.

These dumpers are scum and need to be dealt with. We also need to deal with the "anglers" who litter every stream side with empty Styrofoam bait containers and beer and soda cans.

Take photos, lots and lots of photos. If you see something say something. Just about every spit of water in N.J. has some Environmental or Watershed group attached to it. Case in point. Ratherbe spoke up about the Rockaway river, soon after that we had not one but two Trout Unlimited groups up there cleaning up the mess. Sometimes all it takes is some photos and making the right contacts.
