Took my son last year and had a great time! Some vendors even loaded him up with all kinds of freebies! Lucky kid!

Only down side was where I must have missed the small print where I approved being continuously called about a timeshare I "entered" to win! The only 2 prizes I entered for was a Silverado and a quad!

Muskies Inc. New Jersey Chapter 22 is also at the show this year.

Stop by our booth #623, say Hi and talk everything Musky with us.

I personally will be there most of the day both Saturday and Sunday.

bringing young, well behaved kids to any fishing show or flea market always ends with tons of free stuff. i wish i would have had MORE kids when i was younger!

I'll have to check it out. I saw the signs when I was working and was curious as to when it was. Glad I got on to the forum! I'll have to grab a ticket and head down tomorrow.

Took the ride over yesterday. I have to admit I was a little disappointed this year!

Only a handful of decent fishing booths compared to last year. Last year I was able to pick up a bit of soft plastics and lures. This year I only saw one booth with tackle and it was aimed at salt water. I did get to spend a bit of time talking with the Muskie Inc guys. Calvin was his name. Nice guy and I hope to be able to attend the muskie school this year.

Seems to be more food type booths (ie jerky, hot sauces etc), therapeutic vendors (heating pads, massagers, etc), toys, home services (LED bulbs?? rain gutter guards, siding/roofing) tons of knives.

Best part in my opinion was the Empanada booth. Delicious! Eatem up!

Great place for hot sauce, jerky and pickles. It's NOT a fishing show anymore. Saltwater show in Somerset is your best bet if you're looking to haggle with vendors for fishing gear both fresh and salt.

I went yesterday also and agree not too much fishing stuff. It was nice to get out and go but I seem to remember it was better years ago...Charlie

They did have some presentations towards the back with some pros. Probably not interesting to you guys, but I took quite a few notes :P

That was the only thing that was half way decent. one of the presenters was having technical difficulties with the sound and what he was trying to teach didn't interest me.

There were some rods that they were selling that i checked out but thats about it, some salt water stuff and i didn't see any freshwater lures which is what i was looking for. I was thinking there would be jackal worms and all kinds of other stuff that you cant find it most retail stores. it seemed like such a missed opportunity.

Then every time i would walk by a booth i had someone trying to force sell me shit i didn't need or care about like light bulbs. You couldn't walk by without someone bothering you.

Was pretty miserable experience and the place stunk. Even the beef jerky sucked lol

I went to the exxxotica convention in November in the same exact place and let me tell you fellas that was well worth it lol it also smelled much more pleasant lol

In the end i can just watch seminars on youtube of exactly what i want to learn but my favorite pros, why pay to go to a stinky place that has nothing of interest to buy all while being harassed by some overbearing salesmen

I used to go to this show every year when I used to live up that way, I haven't gone in some time, this year I could not wait, and was not gonna miss it. Sorry to say, but that must have been the "WORST" sportsman show I have ever been to, and will never go back, basically no freshwater fishing stuff at all. Waste of time, was tired of all the vendor's trying to jam their product down your throat, jewellery, junk sunglasses, etc. When we left, it was only 7pm with still a hour till closing, and a lot of the booth's were already closing up, because there was not many people left.
