Triple Musky Day 12/27

[The Birdman]

Have not posted in a while……
Hit the water today in search of the SKI’S solo mission.
This is my first year actually musky fishing. I’m hooked. But to be honest my last 4 times out I’ve been pretty much skunked.

Well today my my persistence paid off.
On the water @8am. water temp 47.

9:30am- 33” Tiger.
10am- 48.5” (pb)
12noon- 41”
also missed a BIG girl, i pulled my freakin crank bait out its mouth after the 4th figure8. got way too trigger happy.
All fish landed and released safely

Way to slam them!!! I had four three weekends ago solo then tried the little lake and skunked and then went back to the other lake and skunked again! Thought we were gonna get at least one yesterday but no such luck. I can't complain though I have been Musky fishing 5 times between last fall and this fall and caught seven so that's quite a feat in itself. Beautiful fish John and congrats on the banner day!!!

This kinda catching doesn't happen too often in the great garden state. Way to go Tweet Tweet! The Birdman strikes again. 48.5 is a long, long fish. Congrats on the PB! That Tiger is making me drool, love the color pattern on that BEAST!:D

There was a good episode of River Monsters where Jeremy Wade went hunting for musky in Canada. Either he was just making for drama or he was really having a hard time finding musky. He caught numerous Pike until he finally got one on a jig and 6 lb test.

Needless to say if he came to Jersey and fished with some of you guys, he could probably make a pretty good episode of the show.

Thanks guys, i was able to catch most of it on the go pro!
i started filming right after the measurement.
fish was out of the water for 18 seconds after reviewing the tape.

she wanted to go as soon as she hit the water (at :35) but she regained some strength and was safely released. i stayed in the area for another 10m downloading the go pro vid to my iPhone and didn't see the fish resurface so she good !
