Due to exams and errands, I did not have time to fish today. However, while I was running errands I had to pass a spot on the river that tends to produce very well in the current conditions. I happened to have a rod in the car so I decided to stop for a maximum of 10 minutes to make few casts. The spot did not disappoint, and in less than 10 minutes I caught and released this beautiful, very fat 30" class pike (unfortunately the fish picked up a few leaves during the landing process, and since Im looking to get the fish on its way asap I just took a quick pic). With the mission accomplished, I continued on with my errands.

I learned to always keep a rod in my car from living in south Florida. There are tons of canals, ponds and lakes and most of them have
Peacock bass and a ton of other species. I kept a rod in my car because you never know when you'll have a few minutes to fish. I catch pike year round in the river, and I don't live far so I always have a rod with me in case I have some time!
