I decided late Sunday night to get my shit together and hit the water early Monday morning in the dense fog. After coming up empty on my last seven Musky trips my perseverance finally paid off. CPR'd this 39" 15# Musky on a Perch colored 8" jointed Believer.

Nice job on taking the time to revive her and let her get her bearings back. I've seen way too many dead Muskie over the years, glad this one is still kicking :).

Congratulations on your perseverance paying off, I'm sure she gave you a thrill of a lifetime! And in return for that thrill, Great job on the release. I'm not a musky fisherman but have seen too many steelhead floating down the Salmon River because the angler doesn't take enough time reviving spent fish. A few extra minutes could be the difference between a fish surviving or sinking to the bottom. Good work!

Thanks guys. Yeah it took over 3 minutes to get her straight. My fingers were numb but I was not letting go before it was time.

Great video dude, nice catch! ! Between the battle, handling of fish, and temperature, it really does take a lot out of these esox. During the hotter days, I wait an extra minute or so after they show signs of revival to let them sweet with no worries.
Great example of fish revival/release!!

And I couldn't agree more. Nice to finally give some friendly advice to someone and not see pics of dead fish or get my spots blown-up. Call me anytime, you set a good example by buying the proper net and releasing the fish.

Yes sir Mark the net I bought from you worked perfectly and the Believer lure as well. Nice big net enabled me to land the fish and keep it in the water to remove the hooks. I tried to measure while in the net but that's a tough one. With more experience Im sure i'll get that down. I only had the fish out of the water for 30 seconds tops for a quick measurement and half ass photo. Im thrilled that I finally landed one. Took me about 40 hours to catch my first Ski. The wait was more then worth it. Better then 10,000 casts.. Can't wait to get out there again.. Maybe not till the spring tough because on my way home a bearing crapped out on my trailer.
