I just checked the extended forecast again...we won't see fish able ice in January...I'm calling it now. Cross your fingers for February...you might be able to ice fish a pond in north West Sussex...
Glad I bought a power auger last year! Hahaha. Plenty of good open water winter fishing to be had!

Chris, if you mount it right on the boat the auger can double as an outboard!

Water temps were 49-50 as of Sunday. I can remember them being low 40's this time of year.

Last week one of those Facebook memory pages popped up and featured a post I made a few years ago. I was lamenting the fact that I finally had to give in and put the boat away for the winter because of the ice forming on the local lakes.
