Been seeing great reports down in Jersey, thought I would contribute up here from Boston.

To avoiding studying for my finals, I went to do some fishing at the on-campus Chestnut Hill Reservoir. These fish have probably never seen a lure before in their life, and they were straight putting on the feedbag. It was straight drop and reel fishing with my ultralite for some jumbo perch, some pushing 12+ inches like this fattie that I CPRed. Also lost a jumbo pickerel that would have even made South Jersey people like me proud :D. Either way, awesome way to procrastinate and relieve some stress.

Also, anyone have an idea what kind of baitfish this is? Was lucky to snag it and now know what match to hatch :D

Cant wait to be back in Jersey to catch some trout with this great weather were having.

Andys,

From a quick google search I believe that earlier in the year there were boats going out for ling, pollock, and cod, but they all seem to have stopped going out in mid to late november and resume fishing for cod in april. Definitely a great idea for roommate bonding hahahaha

That's right, winter can be down right brutal up there and the boats can become iced in. Plus the regs are probably set, April cod !!
