While consumers were beating each other up over Keurig machines and iPads, my dad and I took advantage of the wonderful weather and went fishing instead. First stop was the Duke Island Park dam. As soon as we pull into the parking lot, a bald eagle flew by going downriver, and we took that as a good sign. At the dam I ended up getting two rainbows on a CD3. Next stop was a spot on the lower South Branch, where the river channel was half-full with leaves! Nothing going on there, so we headed back to Duke Island and fished the pool below the shale flats. Dad and I each got a rainbow on small white grubs. I also missed what felt like an absolute beast for the two seconds I had it hooked. All rainbows landed were in the 14-15 inch range, and all released.
No photos or video today, just me and Dad enjoying the river on a gorgeous day.
