This administration never ceases to amaze me. The most important job of our government is to keep its CITIZENS safe. Yet mr. Obama still plans on letting in thousands of Mid East refugees that CAN NOT be vetted!

As always, this president puts his hubris before our safety!

let's face facts. Our muslim president no-balls does everything he can to protect the muslims many who he is probably related to. Candidate Mrs runner up to Monica, is following him because of votes. This country is bankrupt and wait till she's finished. The french just found and killed the master mind of the attacks and they are still bombing but we have them contained, give me a break. They just caught 5 people from the Syrian movement with fake passports trying to get in, way to go democrats who look for votes. We are a country of very stupid people. One answer, we need somebody with big kahonos to take over.........TRUMP

It always troubles me how right wing the people involved in my favorite hobbies are. Fishing/Shooting/Etc...

I always feel like a little bit of an outsider and try not to discuss my political beliefs. But come on, we're mostly talking about women and children here. The people who attacked Paris aren't even Syrian. Belgium and French nationals. Were they Muslim? Yeah, they were. A lot of terrorists are Muslim. But we have our share of white christian extremists here who bomb buildings, shoot churches and kill children also. Are we really afraid of a few thousand people in a country of 300 million? Especially when it was GWB's illegal war in Iraq that exasperated the situation? Of course it hasn't been helped by our war hawk presidents continued indiscriminate drone bombing campaign.

You know who else was a Syrian refugee? Steve Jobs. He was born in the United states because his mother was given refugee status so she could come here.

By the way, "Put a towel on his head"... "Muslim President"... Are we really that hateful around here? I'm not thrilled with the Muslim religion either, but really I'm not thrilled with ANY religion. It's not god I'm against, it's his fan club. Can we maybe show that we're better people and not paint with broad strokes of the brush? We're talking about a religion of 1.5 billion with a B. It's not even a fraction of a fraction who are looking to hurt us. It's a few lunatics who WANT us to make the other followers of Islam think we hate them. Why play into their hands?

I would argue that if the United States were to withdraw from the Middle East, encourage our Allies to take an active stance, reduce our nuclear weapon stockpile, stop funding boondoggle aircraft, and stop bombing strangers overseas we would have plenty of money for all the things you're talking about.

Bernie Sanders has mentioned putting a couple of penny tax on speculative stock trades. It would be negligible to you or I who do very few trades a year. But to the people doing thousands a day it would add up to Billions of dollars. We bailed them out, now it's time for them to send our kids to college.

A single payer healthcare system where you and I pay 2.2% of our salaries and our employers pay 5%. The ability to negotiate on medicines like every other country but us does.

We need to spend the savings from above on our infrastructure. Our bridges and roadways are crumbling but we have 2 Trillion dollars to pour into Iraq?

The refugees may cost us some money yes but it is nothing in comparison to all the other things we are wasting money on. Why did Governor Jindal literally destroy his state to save Exxon billions of dollars? Why did Chris Christie do the same? Why is it whenever you hear about a policy that allows some oil company to do a terrible thing the claws of the GOP are always in it?

I used to lean towards the conservative. But frankly the conservative that I was is gone. It's gone to the Huckabee's and the Ted Cruz's. The Kasichs. The people who want government so small they can fit inside a uterus, but so big we're going to have a department of Judaeo Christian services? We actually are going to tell people who they can marry? What they can do with their bodies, and put them in prison for smoking a plant? We're going to tell a young Muslim American, born and raised here that he isn't allowed to be President based on his religion? That sits well with you?

I'm sorry, Right Wing has gone too far. And yes, we shouldn't be sending people back overseas to die after we started an illegal war that destroyed their country.

Russ, I'm all for debate so here are my points.

1) illegal war? What are you talking about? The war was not illegal. It was approved by congress including Hillary

2) it's not anyone's job to pay for my children's education but mine

3) it only takes one "refugee" to push a button. And they don't have to be male, as proved by the female shooter and female homicide bomber in France.

4) you know who else wanted to appease the enemy, nevell chamberlain. That didn't work so well either. Freedom is not free.

5). Instead of tearing down the "1%" who actually pay taxes, how about a flat or fair tax so EVERYONE has skin in the game. Unlike now where the bottom 50% pay nothing.

By the way, I'm not an idealouge. I don't agree with 100% of the conservative platform. I am for a woman's right to choose as well as other things.

As I stated. I encourage debate, unlike liberals who will usually scream at you if you disagree

Steve you know I have mad respect for you. I'm not THAT kind of Liberal, but it goes on both sides. I got told that I hate America and should go join Isis the other day because of my... I believe, well thought out opinions. We don't have to agree, like you said. I feel like I made my points above so I'm not going to reiterate. But I felt like in this particular case where I'd usually stay quiet I'd at least make an effort. Don't know what you're doing Sunday but if you're in the Highlands Marina maybe I'll bump into you!

I actually wanted to address that Tax thing. The way it is now poor people and compares to the 1 percent that's you and me also. They pay more tax percent wise than any rich person. Don't forget sales tax doesn't discriminate. Plus I do t know about you but capital gains is a super small part of my income. Rich people it's the opposite. So that's why I'm not for a flat tax. They seem rather regressive to me.

Can we agree on term limits for congress and a fair tax then. The fair tax being a federal sales tax more or less

Maybe people should start discussing what they agree with instead of what we don't agree on.

I think that would be a start. I will give you a heads up if I'm there on Sunday.

we can't feed the people who live here, why take on more.i love the liberal "we need to" or "its ok if we do but everyone else is wrong" mentality.1 out of five in this country has hunger problems, don't you think we should take care of U.S. first.

I already laid out a bunch of ideas up top that basically equated to if we do this we can do that. Why is it mutually exclusive? Why can't we help our veterans and take a little responsibility for our actions overseas? When has meddling there ever helped us? When has overthrowing someone ever lead to an improvement in the situation for us or the people living there?

And now, this morning I read that we have a presidential front runner who wants to "Register all the Muslims" and people are cheering about it? As a Jew of European descent I have a massive problem with that concept and anyone who doesn't really needs to go read a history book. But I already know the answer, "It's not the same thing"... really because I'm starting to having trouble seeing the line. I guess I'm done here, I'm a lone wolf liberal and I have a great deal of respect for nearly everyone here and for our hobby and my words, no matter how well crafted, are probably not going to change any minds. I'm no Te-Nahisi Coates.

As I stated I'm all for debate and respect your feelings.
Please don't feel that I would not shake your hand because we disagree politically.

Just wanted to be clear on that point.
