Great Job my friend, good job.

My weekend was pretty much the same only without any fish landed. Multiple hooks ups at the town pool, but clowns were making it impossible to land any fish. To add insult to the injury, none knew how to net one as well so was frustrating weekend to say the least.

Fished everywhere up and low with pretty much all spots producing even though numbers are not what I have expected in terms of salmon but chrome fishing was solid.

Orange patterns produced for those fishing with sacks or imitation and black flys were the ticket for all you fly fishermen.

Snow show was great to fish in. Pretty much anywhere you went you can find a spot even though lots of people were on water.

On a scary note not a lot of females seen in a water or being pulled out. Fresh eggs were impossible to come by and pretty much anyone I asked were holding the in reserve and not selling any.

Had a group of friends up at Burt Dam. Reports were solid with over 15 fish landed between 5 of them. Lots of browns in a water but the same story was there. Not a lot of females and mostly males in a river.

Back next weekend and weekend after that for some more of salmon fever.

Not sure there's any other fishing which compares to steel head. One fish makes all the effort worth while. Pure chrome or a steel which is starting to put on it's fall colors, not sure there's a more beautiful fish in fresh water. Steel head fishing is not for the faint of heart, great job finding and landing a few, It's been a tough salmon season, two years in a row, think it's going to be a tough steel head season as well so great job putting in the time and landing a few. Makes it even more rewarding!

Which is more rewarding, a 10 lb fresh chrome or a 275 lb. whiptail?

Made it up to the river Sunday morning around 9 after being stuck in traffic for 2 hours on 481 north. Some crazy ice and accidents littered 481 and 81 north Sunday. It was bad! Cars backwards, in the median, accidents, bleh. Anyway, met up with the boys in the afternoon and headed over to Altmar where Mikey landed a descent Steelie. Beautiful fish buddy. I couldn't hook a thing all day. It was probably my worse day ever as everything just felt wrong or off or something.

Monday, head back to Altmar on a mission. I'm not leaving til I catch something. Low and behold the rest of the fish in the river pushed there way up between 8-1130 am Sunday morning. I saw a bunch of Kings, 75% of them were Zombies with there still being some fresh ones in the mix. And then there was CHROME! Plenty of fish moved in and quite a few Kings and Steelies were caught. I landed 2 out of 7 Kings with 1 being fresh and the other looking like an AC whore that's worked the streets for 1 too many years. This poor fish looked like a Christmas tree with all the flies and egg sacs hanging off her battered body. That's the way the ball rolls up there.

Hooked into 4 Steelies Sunday morning as well not being able to get any of them to the banks. The one fish I had landed until my line was ran over by a drift boat around 830 am. Local guy offered to net the fish for me but the first attempt only made the fish flip out and back to the middle of the river she went. 5 seconds later my 10 lb Steelie was gone thanks to this drift boat captain from PA that wasn't paying attention. Oh well, there will be other chances to get on these fish again. I was just happy that the bulk of the fish decided to come through. Landed a few lost a bunch. This is the end of the "RUN"! Most fish are now in the fly zone getting ready to rot. However, I did see a good amount of Chrome the 4-5 hours I fished Altmar. The fish are there guys! Go get em! The rest of the river was a ghost town as I checked a bunch of spots on my way out. Hopefully the guys heading up for the SILVER BULLETS find what there looking for. That's the honest report for those who are planning to head north.

GOOD LUCK FELLAS!!! TIGHT LINES!!!:D
Great fish and pics Mikey and Jimmy!!!:)

Yeah there both very different but great in their own respects. Those threshers put those huge pectoral fins out and it's like trying to land a DC 10! Unbelievable strength! Steel head fresh from the lake are like stealth missiles! Two very different fish but true trophies in every meaning of the word. Great pics....thanks for sharing!
