Had the pleasure of helping to stock trout in the KLG today. We had about 6 volunteers and were able to spread the fish out through the 2.5 mile KLG no kill section. We had a blast, who knew stocking trout could be so much fun. There is definitely a learning curve to the "tossing" of fish from a net, but I am getting the hang of it.
After I left the KLG I drove further down the South Branch and saw a MUCH larger hatchery truck unloading their fall trout goodies, damn there are some big trout being stocked !!!
Remember, the surface of the water is like a mat, just covered in leaves. These big fish will hunker down and in 2 weeks it will be lights out. True, there are "some" fish being caught now but you have to give it go after the leaves are gone, trust me on this one.
Sorry to say the rivers are in tough shape, WE NEED RAIN !!!!
