Can anyone recommend a good guide for Lake George. Going up with the family next weekend and would love to take my sons out on some freshwater fishing. Also - what should we expect in terms of fishing mid October? Would prefer to target lake trout and/or salmon, but read that they will be spawning around this time. Any advice appreciated.

Been out with Justy Joe Charters a few times. Always got lakers and landlockeds. Nice guy and works hard.

Justy Joe is great Charter located in North basin, Rod bender Charters good charter in south basin..However this is probably worst time to go for salmon or lakers..Smallmouth bass would be best bet..And there are plenty of smallies to be caught..Lots of luck..

I used rod benders yrs ago n was very happy. Down rigging didn't produce much so we targeted smb n had a blast. He knew how to adapt n keep us in action.
