Good deal, I helped get the the crossbow proposal in, they make an adapter for cross bow for the ams reel. In the past I've been asked to help with wounded warriors as well as other veterans and with the current regulations. if the guy couldn't shoot a bow or stand to shoot a bow over the light rail there wasn't any options for him. A cross bow is a disadvantage as it takes time to reload and recock it bit it at least gives guys an option to use.

bow fish up and eel and then i'll be impressed! haha i was just looking at the species available for bow fishing, an eel really...you would have to be an amazing shot i would assume.

PROPOSED REGULATION CHANGES FOR DELAWARE RIVER
Currently, New Jersey has no minimum size or creel limit for Channel Catfish on the Delaware River and Pennsylvania allows up to 50 to be harvested each day. The Council proposes a minimum size limit of 12 inches and a daily limit of 5 per day. These limits are consistent with current size and creel limits for Channel Catfish in all other fresh waters in New Jersey. The harsh winter of 2014-2015 resulted in extensive ice forming on the river from Trenton through the Delaware Water Gap. The extended ice cover and liberal regulations resulted in unprecedented numbers of Channel Catfish being harvested by anglers. The event emphasized the need for more stringent regulations.

The Council also proposes that species of fish in the Delaware River that do not have specific daily creel and possession limits shall have a daily creel and possession limit of 25 in total. This proposed change provides protection to species such as Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Rock Bass, and White Catfish that are routinely caught in the Delaware River. This proposed amendment protects these and other non-typical game species in New Jersey and is consistent with provisions already afforded these species in other waters of the state.

Thanks for posting this NJSquatch. I am going to write them to voice my support for these changes.

I had no idea that catfish were basically treated worse than baitfish in terms sport-fishing regulations on the Delaware. If you think about how many hundreds of thousands of licensed anglers live within driving range of the main branch of the Delaware River, from NYC to Wilkes-Barre, PA - it makes sense to restore some order to the harvest of Channel Catfish.

As far as Snapping Turtles are concerned, I think the current and the proposed regulations are dangerously permissive. In my opinion, the Chinese do not have any right to our freshwater resources. I believe any commercial exploitation of the Snapping Turtles is selling-out OUR wildlife and outdoor heritage to the Chinese - and that's morally reprehensible and ecologically reckless.

I definitely agree with you on this one buddy. Very well put.
As for the new crossbow regs, I think it's ****in lame!! I'm all for creating better opportunities for the handicapped to get to/land some fish. I know a few people that would appreciate extra efforts to get some veterans and/or handicapped folks doing what they love. So fishing, being one of those things that if it was soo easy...everybody would do it, why make it easier for the people who suck. I personally witnessed a hunter make a chipmunk kabob from 40-50 yds out, and another missing every shot at still carp feeding from 15ft above off a bridge. Some people suck, some have skill and luck. Let's not get the difference confused and make it easier for those who don't need this physical/mechanical advantage!

I never freeze fish I'd rather cook it and bring it to work and give it away. I've heard you can vacuum seal freeze it and not tell the difference idk. To each their own I guess, just baffles me. I released a huge fluke this year and every saltwater fisherman I told looked at me like I had two heads. It's a whole different world.

We shoot them on slow nights. Typically to much if a pain to deal with but I've shot probably 20 over the two or three seasons I'll see if I got a picture somewhere but typically pictures don't turn out great
